Wario Ware Touched Review
Although the Nintendo DS had a rocky start at first, since there was a lack of launch games, there still was a small ray of hope left in Nintendo’s long awaited pocket handheld. Outstanding graphics are obviously not too important to DS titles, so a Warioware game was a wise decision for Nintendo to make. Its fun touch screen features make good graphics seem insignificant. In this game storyline is also unimportant, but manages to keep a unique cartoony atmosphere. All the same characters make a short appearance and have their own funny mini-movie. Along with purposely bad graphics, this game is able to grasp the interest of a Saturday morning cartoon. I cannot say that the story is immature, but Warioware games always grasp some kiddy qualities.
The gameplay is fun and very unique while using the stylus to do wacky actions on the touch screen. Although 5 second games don’t appear as long as you’d expect, the game still has control over you for a reasonable amount of time. This does not mean that the story is long; in fact, it won’t take you more than 4 hours tops to beat it. There still seems to be a wide variety of stuff to do after completing the game, like racing against the clock or beating your high scores.
One disappointment about this game is that it’s not as good as its GBA brother, Warioware Twisted! After all, the touch screen gets a little old after a while unlike the rumble and tilt feature Warioware Twisted has built in it. Personally, it looks kind of bad for Nintendo’s new handheld having its spot light taken away from the GBA when the PSP should be the tougher candidate.
Final Score:
