Halo: Combat EvolvedPersonal Computer Version
Protocol that should always be followed:
1) Of your two weapons, one should always be a pistol. I don't care how much you like both the rocket and fuel rod. Pick one. The only exception is close range combat in which sometime an AR and shotgun would be better.
2) NO JUMPING!!! Jumping is just asking to be killed. When you jump, people leading their aim on you will have a steady aim. If you are jumping and receive fire, press the opposite direction that you are jumping. {i.e. jumping right, press left.) this will cause you to fall down straight and throw off the aim momentarily.
3) Strafe to dodge. The thing about leading is that an enemy will shoot where you are going. But if you strafe back and forth, then he will have to adjust his aim constantly. If you cannot keep up with this, when shooting enemies, it would be best to just empty your clips into the middle of where they are strafing so that at least some of your bullets hit.
4) Don't randomly throw grenades. Its just a waste, unless infinite grenades are on. The chances that they will actually impact someone is slim.
5) Check the portal destination before going through in case campers are lurking there. If they are, go on foot to the portal and eradicate them.
6) Cover. Use cover when it is there. Namely the hills and mountains, because you can poke out your head and spray the enemy and then quickly slip back in. In the event of hill to hill combat, it would be best to ask a teammate to flank the enemy. Otherwise, do so yourself.
7) Throw grenades in FRONT of where the hog is traveling. it will usually result in an overturn. Use plasmas and throw it in the air, but throw the same way.
8) You can usually cut off the reload time of your weapons by half a second or two by meleeing. As soon as you visually see the clip enter the gun, hit melee and your set. Remember to melee the ground or blank air. I've accidentally betrayed the person walking in front of me too many times.
9) When in a hog with passengers and gunners, LET THE GUNNER SHOOT THE ENEMIES. Don’t risk the possibility of grenades, and heavies. Rather, let your gunner take them out at a range. If infinite grenades are present, the passenger can throw grenades directly down and leave a trail of mines/grenades for the enemy.
10) Get health. If you have 1 bar, don't go hop into a hog and go die at the enemy's base. You should grab a health pack, and restore yourself.
11) Reload often. But there are times when you do not need to reload. When there are more than 3/4 of your clip present don't reload. The guy you're shooting might just pop back out and snuff you.
