Reno 911!: Miami
Not Borat with a badge.
Review by Dack
Reno 911! Miami is the first TV show to big screen adaption in 2007, and it’s not the best way to start out the year. Reno 911! Is a usually hilarious TV show on Comedy Central. The show has defiantly run out of ideas, and for every one hilarious episode, there are 2 medicore ones. Reno 911! Miami seems like a Medicore and a hilarious episode of “Reno 911!” wrapped into one.
There isn’t much of a story to Reno. Basically a flimsy story was put together for a reason for them to be in Miami. But I didn’t really expect a breathtaking story, from watching Reno on TV, I know exactly what to expect. The movie is all skits. The Reno cops are patrolling Miami, which is filled with Reno residents, notably Terry, the most hilarious character in the movie, played by Nick Swardson.
I was dissapointed in Reno, it just wasn’t that funny - I never laughed hard. I laughed out loud a few times, and when I did, it was funny, however, mostly I snickered. It’s too bad it wasn’t funnier, it really had the potential, it just seems like they didn’t really care to make it funny, but to make it fun to make. After the movie I got the feeling that, with the resources given to the Director, I could have made a much funnier movie, which is really a pity.
But it’s not all terrible for Reno, it can be funny, and I still chuckle about a few scenes after the movie, but the rest is forgetable. It’s not Borat with a badge.
Final Score: 2.5/5
