The new movie Poseidon is a remake of the previously released film, The Poseidon Adventure. I saw it this weekend and as always, I am here to tell you guys all about it.

In the movie, Poseidon is the name of this gigantic ship, that I am assuming because the movie gives no other clue, is setting sail for the very first time. Like I said before, the ship is huge. Have you guys seen the new Royal Carribean ship that is as tall as the Eifel Tower and as long as, I think it was two football fields. That is how big the ship in the movie is. And if you have not seen the Royal Carribean ship, just image the Titanic, just alot more high-tech.

Well, anyway, it is New years eve and a whole bunch of rich, white people(I don't mean to sound racist), are on this ship partying and drinking and doing whatever it is rich, white people do. So they all start counting down to the new year when the movie cuts to a scene on the bridge. The captain feels something strange and picks up some binoculars. He looks through them and then you see a look of outright terror on his face. The movie cuts to yet another scene of the ocean and you see this giant wave coming right for the ship.

To make a long story short, which I sometimes find impossible, the ship gets hit by the wave right at the start of the new year. And as you all should know, the ship capsizes, which I thought was pretty stupid.

So a few people die and then playing true to themselves, the rich, white people panic and all hell breaks loose. Among all the chaos, a group of "smart", rich, white people band together in an effort to find away off the ship before they die. But do they all make it? You'll have to find out for yourself.

In my opinion, I thought that this movie was pretty dumb. I mean, come on, when the hell has a cruise ship the size of the Eifel Tower ever capsized? Has there even been a wave the size of the Eifel Tower? And what is even better is that there is no character development at all. Ok, so we find out a few tiny facts about some of the characters, but nothing else. What movie can be good if it doesn't have any lifestories about the people in the movie?

But I do admit, there were a few good scenes. And they did do a good job with the computer graphics and the scenery. I thought that they did an absolute wonderful job with the way that they killed some of the poeple.
In all, I would recommend Poseidon to anyone who is easily entertained. But if you are not that type of person, do not go see this movie.
Final Score: 3.5/5 stars
