What You Should Do This Week (8/06/07)
There's a lot of time in a week. It's impossible to know how many hours for sure, but we have estimated there could be near 62. We at Marvel-Ous are showing you what to spend your time on. Everything we recommend will be something great, from a random time. It could have just come out, or could be thirteen years old. Watch, play, and listen to all of these, or just some. As long as you stay on our weekly diet, your life will be worth living, and you'll die doing everything important this world has to offer. Check back every week for a new recommendation list to keep your life on track.
Play: Gran Turismo 3

Yeah, I said it. It may be almost 5 years old, but if you haven't played
this and you're a car enthusiast, this game is for you. It may be a
little dated, and it's certainly not GT4, and it's most definitely hard
to get started compared to GT2, where you could buy used cars for cheap
and fix them up, but once you get a few good cars, it feels really good
to be able to burn down a track at 160 mph in a stylish sports car.
Only problems are that you need a lot of time for some of the later
races, so if you don't have the patience to sit down for 15-20 minutes
at a time at the professional level, you should definitely avoid the
one-to-two-hour long endurance races which, unfortunately, also reward
some of the faster and more fun cars. Also, if you've never toyed with
cars before in a Gran Turismo or real life or what have you, you may be
spending more time off the track trying to figure out what went wrong
when you replaced your tires with Jello. Something like that. Some
people complain about the lack of damage modeling in the Gran Turismo
series, too. I ask, why? It just means you always get to look good when
you drive into everything.
Listen to: Radiohead "OK Computer"

It is difficult to put British band Radiohead into a specific genre. Although their style is mostly melodic rock, each song contains hints of experimental and electronica (with an occasional robotic voice), creating a truly unique listening experience.
Their album OK Computer put Radiohead on the map as one of the most distinctive bands in recent years, receiving acclaim not only in Britain but also in America where they received a Best Alternative Album award and a nomination for Album of the Year.
If you are new to Radiohead, the uniqueness of their sound is enough to warrant a purchase. OK Computer is an excellent introduction, and will likely remain in your CD player for quite some time.
Watch: Perfume

Perfume is a totally entrancing movie with a beautiful orchestral score that complements it nicely. Even the cinematic renderings of the beauty Grenouille experiences is enough to awe an audience and makes one wonder just how beautiful it would be to see what he sees. Ben Wishaw fills the role perfectly in his first major screen appearance. I could see the wonder and innocence in his face as he smelled all sorts of beautiful things. Perfume does glorify his murders although they are hardly brutal and his intentions simply innocent. It should also be noted that there is quite a bit of nudity in the movie although not a single bit of gore.
With a movie that got such limited release and small amount of attention, most of you who were interested in this couldn't see it in the theaters. Now that its out on dvd, anyone who was remotely intrigued by a trailer for perfume should rent it at their soonest convenience.
Tune in to: Flight of the Conchords Episode 9: "What Goes On Tour" (HBO)

If you've never heard of the New Zealand Folk/Comedy duo, now is your chance to become a fan. Flight of the Conchords are hilarious when doing stand-up. Now, they've integrated their hilarious catchy songs with one of the funniest comedy scripts in recent history. Past episodes have included Bret getting a job as a sign holder, Jemaine getting replaced with a tape recorder, and Brett being visited from "1980's David Bowey".
This week's episode "What Goes On Tour" has Murray, using the band's "emergency fund," organizing a warm-up tour in preparation for a big gig in Central Park. At an airport bar, the boys get hooked by some "mermaids" from a women's water-polo team--nearly ruining the tour and their relationship with Murray. Flight of the Conchords is on HBO Sunday nights at 10:30 ET. Check it out.
So now you have a full week ahead of you. No more wasting time deciding what you should do. Check back every week for a new "What You Should Do This Week".
