This Film is Not Yet Rated (TFNYR) is a documentary that examines the Motion Picture Association of America and the rating system they use to give films ratings. Most specifically the movie compares the sexual content that makes a movie a R rating with the sexual content that makes a movie a NC 17 movie. Some things that they finally decide during the movie includes the MPAA giving a NC 17 rating because a movie shows pubic hair or because a movie shows homosexual sex.
The movie also has a short cartoon that compares the different ratings which says that a PG 13 is allowed one usage of the word fuck but it can not refer to a sexual act. On the other hand, R rated movies have no limit on their use of the word Fuck and no limit on violence. Generally the only thing that separates an R movie from an NC 17 movie is sexual content. TFNYR is a documentary that anyone who is at all interested in how movies are rated should go see, however, there is quite a bit of sexual content in the movie itself. There is enough sex to make parents want to keep their kids at home when they watch the movie.
Final Score: 5/5 stars
