Dack's Review:
More style than Goodfellas, and more ghostbusting then Ghostbusters,
The Departed is the best crime movie made since..well, Goodfellas.
The Departed stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a police officer who goes
undercover in the mob...and Matt Damon as a mobster that goes under
cover in the police department. The whole time, both are basically
cancelling each other out by supplying tips to there respective
parties. They keep trying to figure out who each other are, sometimes
resulting in death. Jack Nicholson plays the wacky mob boss who is
always trying to protect himself and kill others.
Although the movie is 2 and a half hours long, and mostly dialogue, I
never found myself getting bored. They never spend too much time on
one sub story, and something new and interesting occurs alot. When
there are action scenes, they are action scenes. Gruesome, loud, and
big, but what else would you expect from Scorsese?
There are some touching scenes in the movie as well. Such as both
Damon, and DiCaprio Being in love with the same girl, and the other
one not knowing.
The best part of The Departed is the cast. Whoever cast this movie was
a genius. No one in the whole movie gives a bad performance. Damon and
DiCaprio really shine throughout the movie, especially with having to
fake Boston accents.
The Departed was an amazing movie, so good, it is a serious contender
for movie of the year on Marvel-Ous. See it, or Be it.

Sirus's Review:
The Departed is a riveting brutal crime drama starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg. Each of these four main actors in the movie do an awesome job making their roles believable. For the first part of the movie, I had a hard time telling DiCaprio and Damon apart. Thankfully, later on they grew a beard on DiCaprio’s character later so I was able to tell them apart finally.
The movie tells the story of a police agency in Boston that is somehow interwoven with the mob. One of the men is a double working for the mob who is infiltrated in the police while another is a double working for the police undercover in the mob. The paths of these two men intertwine throughout the movie as they each try to discover the other’s identity.
The Departed is a movie that is very violent at times and is littered with all sorts of yummy dirty language. The violence and language in the movie are definitely not for children. That being said, adults who are not offended by strong violence or language but rather delight in them will find a great time in this movie and possibly even stuck on the edge of their seat. I highly recommend The Departed to fans of Jack Nicholson or anything crime drama in general.
