I'll say it. I had a blast with Madden 06 last year. I played it at friend's houses, I played it at my house, I played it at Best Buy, I played it at Target. If there was free Madden, I was there. So, a new Madden is coming out for 2007 (Big suprise, eh?) and I'm excited. I'm looking forward to some new features, mabye some better music, whatever. The point is, some brand new familiar fun is on the way, right? Wrong.

I got both the Hall of Fame, and the regular version of Madden 07. The regular version of Madden 07 retails for $59.99 plus tax. The HoF version retails for a whopping $69.99 plus tax. The Hall of Fame version has nothing better included with it. Infact, I actually disliked it more. What would you rather have on a cover? A fat mubbling man past his prime, or a strong like ox black man? I don't know about you, but I'd have to go with the black man. The "HoF" version comes with an extra disc, most of which is usless crap, even for a Madden Fan.

The big question is what's different? Over the years the Madden graphics have continually improved, as have the features. Last years madden was the most solid entry in the series, so Madden 07 should bring alot to the table. It doesn't. It's exactly the same as 06. I'm not exagurating either, it has basically the same menus, same exact graphics, same gameplay, and same features exactly. The only thing new is the music (Panic! At the Disco anyone? Didn't think so) the stats for the characters and teams, which unless you are a diehard football fan, you could care less about., and the Superstar mode exclusive to the 360. The superstar mode is ok, but nothing to cheer about. I don't even understand what it is exactly, seems the same as franchise mode to me.

EA's a big company. They have lots of money, and the only football game in town. I despise EA, and I have for about 3 years, and now I hate them even more. All they did was erase the 6, add a 7 and spend about a week updating. They should have added alot more features to justify a brand new purchase, because right now millions of people are buying the same exact game as last year, which is very dirty.

Madden 06 is only $14.99 used for the 360, and about $9.99 for the PS2 and Xbox. You are better off just going out and buying 06, because It's the same game. That's all I have to say about it, I spent alot of time replaying a game I played last year, and I'm quite sour about it. Go check out Madden 06's review from last year, which will cover everything for 07, and do yourself a favor and send EA a nice "**** you" and don't buy the same exact game again.
