Horton Hears a Who
An animated gem that can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone.
Review by Sirus

Horton (Jim Carrey) is an elephant in a forest full of talking animals. He is a sort of teacher for a number of kids and the most kind, sincere one of all. One day, a tiny speck of dust is knocked off the flower it has been sitting on for hundreds of years. When the speck floats right in front of Horton, he hears a tiny call for help. The speck is home to an entire town of little people called Whos. The Mayor (Steve Carell) hears Horton and asks Horton to keep the town of Whoville safe from danger. Both Horton and The Mayor struggle to convince those around them of a truth they believe in their hearts but one that is so outrageous that nobody wants to listen. Neither one is willing to back down as they fight for what they believe in.

Horton Hears a Who is a fantastic tale to be enjoyed by all ages while giving laughs out generously. Jim Carrey and Steve Carell take the role of the two main characters and give some of the best voice work in either of their careers. Jim Carrey especially comes across as genuine and portrays Horton’s personality perfectly through his voice. The soundtrack is equally wondrous, with epic horns and choral pieces that make every tense moment feel important. If you have young kids begging to take you or even just a friend who happens to love computer animated films, you should give in and go. The story is as whimsical as any Dr. Seuss tale and also just as timeless. We could all learn to be a little more sincere in our daily lives like Horton is. Horton Hears a Who is truly an animated gem that can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone.
