Only appealing to those that like "The Matrix" universe.
Review by Phantom3790

Enter the Matrix is the first game to be made for the Matrix series. It was quite a relief when it came out because people had been wanting the Wachowski brothers to make a game for the Matrix.

Enter the Matrix, I think, has a good story line. The game starts after the Animatrix. You can play as one of two characters. Naiobi and Ghost. The game itself basically follows the story line of the Matrix: Reloaded. It just shows you what goes on behind the scenes. You start the game in a post office trying to get a message that was left by the Osiris. From there you go on to play through levels like the Merovingians' cheatux, the highway chase and being chased by sentinels in the real world.

The graphics for Enter the Matrix were pretty good. They did a good job on the character design. Naiobi and Ghost actually look like the people who played them in the movie. This is because the designers used the actors for face animation and movement tracking. So everything the characters do in the game, the actors did themselves. They also did a good job on the graphics for focus mode. When you enter focus mode, everything slows down. When you shoot a gun, you can see the bullet fly through the air.

I really liked the sound for this game. They incorporated alot of weapon sounds for this game. The weapons sound real because they actually took the guns they needed, shot them, and then recorded the sound. After recording, they put the sound into the game to make it more realistic. The sounds for hand to hand combat were not that good though. When you hit someone, the game would make a loud thunking sound. That is not what it sounds like when you really hit someone.

There were several things that I liked about the gameplay. One of them was that each character did different things. They followed the same story line, but they each had different side missions. One of the things that were different about the characters is if you were playing as Naiobi, and you were doing a driving mission, you would drive a car. If you played as Ghost, during the same mission, you would be shooting out of the passenger side, not driving.

Another thing that I liked was that the two characters had different fighting styles. This makes for a different playing experience every time.

Focus also made Enter the Matrix a fun game. Focus mode is a state similar to the one that Neo entered in the first Matrix movie. When you use focus, everything slows down. You also become more powerful and can kill people faster. Another great thing about focus is that you can see bullets flying through the air. So in case you see a bullet coming at you, you can dodge it.

Weapons are another thing that made this game very fun. There are an assortment of weapons. Some of them, you can find all the time. Others, you can only find in a certain level. Your standard weapons are a pistol, an assault rifle, and your fists. You can find other weapons like a shot gun and a M-16.

One thing that I did not like about Enter the Matrix was that it had a two player mode, but you could not unlock it unless you put in a cheat. And I do not like to cheat.

Other than that, I would have to say that Enter the Matrix is a good game and if you are into the Matrix, shooting, or fighting games, this is the game for you.
