Starring:
Sacha Baron Cohen
Hello, my name is Borat! Actually it's Dack, or should I say, Dack
that just saw the funniest movie in 2 years.
For those of you who don't know about the Borat character, he started
back on Sacha Cohen's popular HBO series "Da Ali G Show". Basically,
on Da Ali G show, sacha cohen would do skits dressed as a british
gangster, Ali G, A gay sweedish fashion reporter, Bruno, and a TV
Reporter from Kazakhstan, Borat. In the Borat skits, he would pretend
to be a reporter from Kazakhstan, and interview people, while totally
doing off the wall things, like trying to have sex with a dating
coach, or singing the "Nation Anthem of Kazakhstan" for 5 straight
minutes at a football game. The big screen adaption of Borat doesn't
stray from the show at all.
In Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious
Nation of Kazakhstan, Borat travels to America to learn about America,
and show what he learned to Kazakhstan, to improve his nation. First
he goes to New York, where New Yorkers true color really does shine,
however while in New York, he sees an episode of baywatch, and becomes
obsessed with Pamela Anderson.
So what's a Kazakhstan reporter going to do? Travel to california to
marry Pamela Anderson. This sets off a road trip, that will take them
to alot of strange places, that set's off so many weird and hilarious
encounters, including buying a Bear.
Borat works well on so many levels. While it's telling the story of
Borat, it's hiliarious, while Borat is interviewing people, it's
hilarious, while Borat is driving around, it's hilarious. Infact, you
don't go more than 30 seconds without laughing throughout the course
of the whole movie, and that's exactly what a comedy should be like.
Final Rating: 5/5 stars
