Usually remakes pale in comparison to their originals, but Crystal Dynamics broke that trend with Tomb Raider Anniversary, a remake of the original Tomb Raider in celebration of Lara Croft's ten year birthday. Come to think of it... Lara has filled out pretty well for a ten year old. Anyway, Tomb Raider Anniversary is the quintessential tomb raidin' game and a huge step towards returning Lara Croft to her throne as gaming's greatest heroine.

Best 360 Game

Winner: Mass Effect
It’s just that good… Mass Effect is not only the best RPG of 2007, but the best game available on 360. Any fan of RPGs (or games that are simply entertaining) who owns a 360 should pick up Mass Effect. Unless, of course, you think Halo 3 is the only 360 game you need, in which case you are a lost cause.

What’s a year without Pokemon? A year I don’t want to live through, that‘s for sure. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is the latest game(s) in the long, long, long-running Pokemon franchise, and brings along a plethora of new Pokemon with just the right amount of new elements to warrant a purchase and another Elite Four butt-kickin’!

Zelda sure was fun. It wasn't exactly revolutionary for the series, but it's the same great Zelda forumla we've come to love with some cool new extras.

Best PSP Game

Winner: Silent Hill: Origins
Originally planned for release alongside the Silent Hill movie, Silent Hill: Origins is the latest (yet earliest?) chapter in the Silent Hill series. Keeping the series’ renowned atmosphere and horror, Origins deserves the spotlight as Best PSP Game. Those of you without a PSP can play Origins on PS2 later this Spring.
Runner Up: Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

Winner: Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
Syphon Filter is one great series. Instead of declining, Logan's Shadow proved to be one of the best games in the series. The soundtrack, story, graphics and gameplay are all near perfect. The great ending leaves you drooling for more.
